The Drama Club
Sleek, sexy, thoroughly unique, and undeniably rock, N.E. Pennsylvania based rock quintet The Drama Club has been creating a spectacle that is nothing short of drama! The lovefest comes courtesy of Nick Coyle, who had spent 3 years as the angst-filled vocalist for Universal Records act Lifer (which featured members of Breaking Benjamin) was ready to cut loose, have some fun, and “make music more along the lines of what I rock in my free time,” he says. “That was the whole point. This feels more comfortable than anything I’ve done, because the music is straight from the heart, without chasing a trend.” The Drama Club’s lead singer and primary composer Nick Coyle is widely acknowledged as one gifted “angelic” vocalist and has inspired many songwriters. Besides his work with the band, Nick received a “gold” record for his contribution to the “Scorpion King” Soundtrack with his former band “Lifer”. The Drama Club is no strangers to the challenges and triumphs of building a musical career, various members have been involved with successful label/touring projects. In 2005, Coyle teamed up with guitarist/vocalist Nate Bevan (formerly of hardcore band Stalemate), but just recently finalized the line-up after going through various member commotions. The band finalized members after picking key players out of the regions best bands to form this “super group”. An exceptional live band, The Drama Club stand among the top “draws” in their region and have become increasingly more popular after continuous regional touring and being a promotional machine for themselves. The band has taken it in their own hands to promote themselves and their music. The result is shows that regularly sell out, a web site that gets thousands of hits a week, and a dedicated fan base. Now, all of the hard work and the years of hoping and dreaming are ready to pay off. Hardened by tough breaks and lineup changes have made the “drama” well worth the trip.
