Digital Media Wire

Background

Digital Media Wire (DMW), publishes a daily online briefing of the most important news stories about the business of digital media, as well as produces some of the industry's most prestigious executive conferences and events. DMW participants are "industry insiders" and senior decision-makers at leading media, entertainment and technology companies, including investment bankers, venture capitalists, advertisers, educators, policy-makers and legal professionals.

Objectives

  • Enhance audience participation at their conferences and events
  • Bring added value to Digital Media Wire conference attendees
  • Create a more engaging experience

Solution

Use Mozes Connect to captivate and engage their high-caliber audience during their conference programs. Digital Media Wire used Mozes Connect to promote real-time audience interaction at their live events, giving each attendee added value.

The live event features within Mozes Connect enable event planners to make their live events more compelling for their audience and increases attendee involvement ten-fold. Mozes Connect live event features offer:

  • Text–to-screen commenting and photos-to-screen to engage audiences with interactivity
  • Text voting to get their immediate feedback
  • Text-to-win promotions to drive greater participation and generate excitement
  • Mobile list building capabilities with mobile content delivery so conference coordinators can grow their mobile list during the event.

DMW first used the live event features of Mozes Connect to power real-time text-to-screen commenting, text voting and text polling features at its Digital Music Forum EAST in February 2007. There was no waiting for access to a microphone and their anonymity was kept intact. Attendees were able to text DMF followed by their comment or question to 66937 and their moderated texts were immediately sent to a large display screen for all to see. Additionally, attendees were able to text a specific word to 66937 in order to answer a poll question or cast their vote for their favorite demo. Text votes were tabulated in real-time on the Mozes “leaderboard” immediately providing the answer or the winner.

Results

Due to the candid conversation and the enormous increase in participation, Digital Media Wire began using Mozes Conect’s live text-to-screen, text voting and text polling features at all DMW events. Mozes will power mobile interaction at all nine of their 2008 conferences, including Digital Music Forum, Millenials and Future of Television.

Digital Media Wire is a leader in live event usage and now Nielsen, O’Reilly and OMMA, to name only a few, have also adopted Mozes Connect. In the past 12 months, Mozes has powered over 60 professional conferences, providing text-to-screen commenting, text voting, polling, and text-to-win contests. Of these 60 conferences, over 1700 text comments have been sent and nearly 4000 text votes have been cast using Mozes.
