Mozes and Knitting Factory's Concert Series 'Music To Go' Helps Fans Get Exclusive With Lloyd at Free NYC Show
First-Ever 360-Degree Mobile Concert Experience Provides Mobile Ticketing, In-Venue Mobile Contest, Text-2-Screen and Post-Show Mobisode
NEW YORK, NY and PALO ALTO, CA -- 05/29/08 -- R&B singer Lloyd, whose new full-length album "Lessons in Love" (The Inc./Universal Motown) hits stores July 15, today launched his new mobile campaign offering fans who join his Mob (mobile fan club) a free mobile ticket to see him perform live at the Knitting Factory in New York on May 29. Mozes, the Knitting Factory and Universal Motown will also offer fans a chance to win a trip to Atlanta, where one lucky winner will get up close and personal with Lloyd in his hometown.
Fans who want to join Lloyd's Mob (mobile fan club) and receive a free mobile ticket to the May 29th show can call his Mozes line at 404-287-2615 to hear Lloyd's message and leave him a message in return. The first 300 people at the door with their mobile ticket will gain access into the show. No paper tickets will be issued. In addition, the fan who leaves the best message (chosen by Lloyd) will win a trip for two to Atlanta, where they will spend an afternoon with Lloyd to see "How He Does It Around His Way."
Once at the Knitting Factory, fans can send messages to Lloyd via text-to-screen messaging that will be displayed in real-time during the concert to his site. After the show, clips of the concert in the form of a "mobisode" (short-form mobile video) will be sent to all of Lloyd Mob member's phones. Footage of the show will also premiere on various online sites.
"Music To Go brings fans and great bands together through mobile like never before," said Andrew Adashek, Director of Interactive Media for the Knitting Factory. "Mozes and the Knitting Factory are helping bands and fans connect and interact, using the Web, text, voice and video."
Lloyd's mobile campaign is dropping as his new single, "How We Do It Around My Way (feat. Ludacris)" is heating up the airwaves on both Rhythm Crossover and Urban formats.
"Music To Go is revolutionizing the fan experience," said Patricia Dao, Director of Business Development at Mozes. "This is a true 360-degree approach, where fans can listen to great music and interact with their favorite artists, whether they want to catch video clips online, hear new MP3s on their mobile device, or exchange text and voice messages with artists like Lloyd."
Lloyd's 2007 album, "Street Love," was certified gold within eight weeks of its release, and spun off two major smashes: "You" featuring Lil Wayne, and "Get It Shawty." His upcoming follow-up, "Lessons in Love," is shaping up to be an even stronger release, confirming the breadth of Lloyd's talent and striking the same diverse and balanced mix of club joints and mellow balladry.
"Universal Motown is excited to push the boundaries of the fans' mobile music experience with Mozes and the Knitting Factory," said Scott Kepnach, Mobile Marketing Manager at Universal Motown Records. "We are committed to exploring new ways to enrich Lloyd's fan experience through Web, mobile and live events."
Fans wishing to join Lloyds' Mob and receive a FREE mobile ticket to the May 29th show can call his Mozes Line at 404-287-2615 to hear Lloyd's message and leave him a message back. The first 300 fans at the door with their mobile ticket will gain access into the show. In addition, the fan who leaves the best message (chosen by Lloyd) will win a trip for two to Atlanta, where they will spend an afternoon with Lloyd and see "How He Does It Around His Way."
